Q: What do the Bingo Caller Plus and Bingo Player Plus apps do, and how do they work together?
A: Bingo Caller Plus and Bingo Player Plus are complementary apps designed for playing bingo in person. Bingo Caller Plus is used by the game host (caller) to randomly draw and announce bingo numbers, as well as manage different game modes/patterns. Bingo Player Plus is used by individual players to generate their own bingo card and mark off numbers as they are called. The two apps are meant to be used together in a live setting (e.g. at a family game night or event). They do not connect to each other via internet or Bluetooth – instead, the caller announces the numbers (either aloud or by showing the device screen), and players respond by manually marking their cards in the Player app. This keeps everything simple and offline. Essentially, the Caller app replaces a traditional bingo cage or number caller, and the Player app replaces paper bingo cards with a digital, reusable option. -
Q: Do I need an internet connection to use these apps?
A: No, an internet connection is not required during gameplay. Both apps are fully functional offline. You can use them anywhere, even without Wi-Fi or cellular data (for example, at a community center or while traveling). The only time you would need an internet connection is: (1) initially downloading or updating the apps from the App Store (or Google Play in the future), and (2) making an in-app purchase or restoring a purchase, which briefly requires internet to communicate with the App Store/Play Store. All core bingo features (calling numbers, marking cards, etc.) work without internet. In short, once the apps are installed and any purchases are activated, you can host and play bingo entirely offline. -
Q: Do the Caller app and Player app sync or communicate with each other?
A: No, the apps do not electronically sync with each other. There is no network or direct connection between Bingo Caller Plus and Bingo Player Plus. They are designed to work in tandem simply by the normal bingo process: the caller app generates and shows the next number, and players listen to the call (or see it if you display it) and then mark that number on their own board in the player app. This was a deliberate design choice to keep the apps simple and fail-safe (no connectivity issues). It also means you can use the apps in any combination – for example, one person could use Bingo Caller Plus on an iPhone while each player uses Bingo Player Plus on their own device, without any pairing process needed. Just make sure everyone can hear/see the caller’s announcements. (Tip: If you’re in a loud environment, you can use the caller app’s built-in call history or connect the device to a speaker so players catch all the numbers.) -
Q: Is a user account or login required to use these apps?
A: No. You do not need to create any account or enter any login information. From the moment you install the apps, you can use them right away without any sign-up. We do not have a registration system in Bingo Caller Plus or Bingo Player Plus. This also means you don’t need to remember any passwords or manage any profile – just open the app and start playing. All settings or preferences (like the bingo game mode you select, or the color theme you choose) are stored locally on your device. Note: If you make an in-app purchase for additional features, that purchase is tied to your Apple ID (or Google account in future), not a separate app account. -
Q: What features are included for free, and what requires an in-app purchase?
A: Both apps are free to download and use in their basic modes. Bingo Caller Plus (host app): The free version allows classic Bingo gameplay (the standard 5-in-a-row win condition) with an automatic caller. We offer additional game modes and patterns as optional upgrades via one-time purchases. These include fun variations like Four Corners, Blackout (cover-all), Letter patterns (X, T, L, C), column-only games, and more. By purchasing a premium package, you unlock those new bingo patterns to keep the game fresh and exciting. The different in-app purchase options (e.g. Premium, Premium+, or Ultimate) unlock different sets of features or patterns – details are indicated in the app’s store page or description of each purchase. Once unlocked, these features are permanent (not a subscription; they are one-time purchases). Bingo Player Plus (player app): The player app is completely free for players to use. Players can create and play on standard bingo cards at no cost. We currently do not have any paid features in the player app – all purchases are related to the caller app’s expanded game options. (This means only the host needs the paid features if you want to play a special game type; players will simply mark whatever pattern is being played on their free app.) -
Q: Are the apps available for Android?
A: Currently, the apps are available on iOS (iPhone, and they also run on iPad/iPod touch and even Mac with Apple silicon, via the iOS app compatibility). We plan to develop and release Android versions of both Bingo Caller Plus and Bingo Player Plus in the near future. This support information and the privacy policy will apply to the Android versions as well. So, Android users will get the same functionality – the caller app for hosts and the player app for participants. We will announce on our website or social media when the Android versions are ready. In the meantime, for iOS users, we hope you enjoy the apps on your iPhones! (If you have both an iPhone and an Android device in your group, note that the current iOS caller can still be used while Android users can use physical cards for now, or vice versa. Once our Android apps are out, they will seamlessly fill that role on Android.) -
Q: How do I make an in-app purchase, and is it safe?
A: In Bingo Caller Plus, premium features or game mode packages can be purchased from within the app. Just navigate to the “Upgrades” or “Store” section of the app (often accessible from the main menu or settings), and you will see the available in-app purchases with their descriptions and prices. Tapping on a purchase will prompt the standard App Store payment dialog (or Google Play dialog on Android). All transactions are handled securely by Apple or Google. It will charge your Apple ID account (or Google account) using the payment method you have on file – we as the app developer never see your credit card or personal billing info. In-app purchases on iOS are very safe; they require your authentication (Touch ID/Face ID or password) just like buying any app or media from Apple. Once the purchase is confirmed, the app will unlock the new features immediately. If the purchase is successful but features don’t unlock right away due to a glitch, don’t worry – you can use “Restore Purchases” (see below) to activate them. And if you ever run into a billing issue or accidental purchase, you can contact Apple support for a refund. But generally, the process is straightforward and secure. -
Q: How do I restore my purchase on a new device or after reinstalling the app?
A: If you got a new phone or had to delete and reinstall the app, you can restore your previous in-app purchases without paying again (as long as you use the same Apple ID or Google account that you originally used to buy them). To do this, open the app and look for a “Restore Purchases” button or option – it’s usually found in the settings menu or the purchase screen. Apple actually requires apps to provide a restore function for in-app purchases, so we have made sure it’s available and easy to use. Tap “Restore Purchases,” and the app will connect to the App Store to verify your past purchases and unlock them. Important: Make sure you are logged into the device with the same Apple ID that you used when you made the purchase. The restore feature will only find purchases under that same account. Also ensure the device has an internet connection during the restore process. If the first attempt doesn’t seem to do anything, you can try a couple of things: (1) double-check that you are using the correct Apple ID (many restore issues are due to people having multiple Apple accounts), (2) try rebooting your device and then try “Restore Purchases” again, and (3) ensure that any Screen Time or parental control settings aren’t blocking in-app purchase activity. After that, your premium features should be enabled. On Android (once available), there will be a similar Restore function tied to your Google Play account. If you still have trouble restoring a legitimate purchase, you can contact us for support and we’ll help troubleshoot (please have your purchase receipt or order reference if possible). -
Q: What if I encounter a problem or bug with the apps?
A: If something isn’t working right, we’re here to help. First, try these troubleshooting steps for common issues:-
Restart the app: Simply close the app completely (swipe it away from your recent apps) and reopen it. This can clear minor glitches that occur if the app has been running for a long time.

Reboot your device: Turn your phone or tablet off and back on. This can help if the entire device was in a weird state and ensures a fresh start for the app.

Update to the latest version: Make sure you have the latest version of Bingo Caller Plus/Bingo Player Plus installed. We release updates to fix bugs and improve performance. On iOS, you can check the App Store > Updates (or your profile > Purchased apps) to see if an update is available. On Android, check the Google Play Store. Running the latest version can often resolve known issues.

Check settings for sound or display issues: If you’re not hearing the bingo caller voice or sounds, ensure your device’s volume is up and that the physical mute switch (if on iPhone) isn’t enabled. Also, within Bingo Caller Plus, verify that the mute toggle (there is an in-app mute option for quiet environments) is not turned on by mistake. If the caller voice is too fast or too slow, check the settings for call speed if available. If a number doesn’t appear to mark off in the player app, make sure you’re tapping the correct square and that you haven’t already marked it. You can clear a marked spot by tapping again if needed (for example, if you marked the wrong number).

Try the game reset (for Caller app): If Bingo Caller Plus seems stuck or not generating new numbers, you can reset the game. Use the “New Game” or reset button in the caller app, which will clear the call history and start fresh. Ensure that you don’t accidentally start a new game in the middle of playing (which would reset the called numbers).

Device compatibility: Ensure your device meets the requirements. For iOS, the apps require iOS 15.1 or later. Using the apps on an older iOS version or an unsupported device might cause crashes or weird behavior. If you’re on an older iOS, update your device’s OS if possible. (For Android, in the future, check the required Android version in the Play Store listing.)

Reinstall as a last resort: If all else fails and the app is still misbehaving, you can delete the app and reinstall it from the app store. This can fix any corruption that might have happened to the app installation. Note: If you do this, remember to use “Restore Purchases” after reinstalling to get back any premium features you bought. Also, any locally saved game state (like an ongoing game or a saved card) will be reset by reinstalling.

Troubleshooting Summary

App crashing or freezing: Ensure your device meets the requirements (iOS 15.1+). Try closing the app and reopening it. If that doesn’t help, reboot your device. Update the app to the latest version available.

No sound from Bingo Caller: Check that your device’s volume is turned up and not muted. Verify the in-app sound settings (make sure the caller voice or sound effects are enabled, and the mute toggle is off). If using an external speaker or Bluetooth, ensure it’s connected properly.

Numbers not appearing or marking issues: In the caller app, if the next number isn’t showing, tap the “Next” or call button again (make sure you didn’t reach the end of a game – all 75 numbers may have been called if it’s a full game). In the player app, if tapping a number doesn’t mark it, it could be that number wasn’t called yet or you’re in the wrong card mode. Check that you’re looking at the right B-I-N-G-O column for the called number. You can also regenerate a new card if something seems off.

In-app purchase not unlocking features: Double-check that the purchase went through (you should see a confirmation from Apple/Google). If it did but features stayed locked, use “Restore Purchases.” Make sure you’re on the correct account and have internet when doing so. If still an issue, contact us with your purchase receipt.

The app is behaving strangely after an update: Sometimes after a major update, settings might reset or the app might need a fresh start. If you see any strange behavior, you can go to the app’s settings and use a “Reset to default” option if provided, or simply delete and reinstall the app (again, only as a last resort). And always feel free to report new issues to us so we can address them.
Remember, the most common fixes for many issues are: restart the app, reboot the device, update to the latest version, and check your settings. These solve the vast majority of problems.
